A lot of work has been going on behind the scenes recently and we are proud to be able to present it to you today.

W e are proud to announce the next big step for BlockShot Champion: the retro redesign and rebrand. We have a new logo, new menu system, and new user interface. This is a major improvement that we have been working on behind the scenes for quite some time, and it has finally reached a level of quality that feel it is ready to be shared with you guys.

In the lead up to creating the game we were searching for an identity, and in that search it ended up with clashing art styles. Our time at PAX taught us a lot, it taught us that people really, really liked our game; it taught us that people of all ages enjoy our game; and it taught us there could be some improvements to our game. One improvement that came up time and time again, the art style was inconsistent. People really loved to see the in game graphics and their retro nature, but felt the character avatars and anything outside of the in game graphics felt too different.

"Same great gameplay, great new look!”

We thought long and hard about these issues and having said that we have decided to rebrand the game. We looked at the game more critically and realized that people’s concerns did have merits and that a change was needed. Having said that, what we have now we are immensely more proud of and we could not have done it without all of the helpful suggestions from fans. The game will still play exactly as before, but the look and feel of everything will be much more consistent.

Now that the art style has finally been nailed down, big development begins towards network multiplayer, new game modes and getting the game onto consoles. This summer we will be testing the multiplayer system so keep an eye out for news on that as we get closer to the time.

Shoot us a message if you have any feedback on the new design. We wouldn’t be here without you guys so keep in touch!.
